This week John Swinney, Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills has released guidance for practitioners. This new guidance includes the CfE statement, which provides specific advice on planning learning, teaching and assessment using the Experiences and Outcomes.
The Benchmarks set out very clear guidance as to what children need to learn to achieve each level of the curriculum. Benchmarks streamline and embed a wide range of existing assessment guidance (significant aspects of learning, progression frameworks and annotated exemplifications) into one key resource to support teachers’ professional judgement.
We look forward to discussing these with our Literacy and Numeracy Coordinators at our upcoming meetings.
