The Development of Associated School Group (ASG) Partnership Forums

Background

The implications of new legislation and statutory guidance from The Scottish Government have led to a review of our working practices to ensure that we adhere to the legislation whilst delivering best value.  The key legislative drivers include:

  • The Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014
  • The Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015
  • The Education (Scotland) Act 2016
  • The Community Learning and development (Scotland) Regulations 2013

The National Improvement Framework and National Performance Framework require services and partners to identify and close the gap to help improve life chances.  The Governance Review has indicated the importance of partnerships, and a devolving of responsibility of resources to schools, clusters and regional groupings.

Aberdeen City Council is currently embarking on a transformation agenda embodied within Shaping Aberdeen.  The proposed ASG Partnership Forums take full congnisance of the priorities around people, place and technologies supporting a culture that considers staff, customer and resources routinely.
