Congratulations to Kingswells School who have achieved ‘Digital School’ status for excellence in digital technology in teaching and learning. I am delighted the innovation and hard work by both staff and pupils is being celebrated. Kingswells School was one of twenty-one schools officially awarded the honour of being recognised as the first digital schools in Scotland in a special ceremony held last week at Wormit Primary School in Dundee. Kingswells is an example of the inspiring approaches schools in Aberdeen are adopting by embracing digital technologies in learning. Other Aberdeen schools which are currently working towards the Digital Schools Award are Abbotswell, Broomhill, Fernilea, Ferryhill, Kirkhill, Middleton Park, St. Joseph’s, Stoneywood, and Tullos Schools. I send them all my encouragement and support. To find out more about Kingswells School’s award please look at the short film made by the pupils. Well done!
