The Hydrography Society in Scotland are running a schools’ lecture on offshore surveying, on Thursday 18th May, at the University of Aberdeen. Aimed at P6/7 and S1/2 pupils, it’s a fun and interesting afternoon. Programme is:
1130 – 1210 Optional – Lunch space arranged at the Student Union (Schools to provide their own lunch packs)
1230 – 1235 Welcome and Introductions….
1235 – 1255 An Introduction to offshore Surveying, BP.
1300 – 1320 Cool Survey Gear – includes 3D laser Scanning & drone operations
1325 – 1355 School Challenge – Subsea simulation software (simultaneous timed task)
1400 – 1430 My role as an Offshore Surveyor
1430 – 1440 Award/Presentation – Poster competition (see attached for info.)
Reasonable travel costs will be reimbursed.
