Curriculum for Excellence
The groundbreaking programme fits into the four capacities of the Curriculum for Excellence, most notably helping children develop into responsible citizens within their communities.
Aimed at Primaries 4-7
The programme is principally aimed at primaries 4-7, though we will be able to visit your primary school and talk to children of all ages.
Since 2010 there has been a 382% increase in the number of calls where children have alerted us to animals in need of our help, which saved injured wildlife and uncovered cases of neglect.
The ongoing collaborative research project with the University of Edinburgh has been evaluating the impact of the Prevention through Education programme. This research shows that the programme is effectively increasing knowledge, positive attitudes and children’s beliefs in animal minds and is decreasing their tolerance of animal cruelty.
