Education and Children’s Services Anti-bullying Policy

The revised Education and Children’s Services Policy was approved at Committee on 1st June 2017 and this should be used with immediate effect. This is now a service-wide document and replaces the 2009 Positive Relationships and Anti-Bullying Approaches in Schools. This policy should be shared with all staff, children and young people and parents and carers.

This policy was developed through consultation with staff, parents and carers and RespectMe. Children and young people’s views about bullying behaviour were gathered through consultation as part of the ‘Priorities for Aberdeen City’s Children’s Services Plan 2017-2020’ and through the challenges set by the Imagineers:

Further consultation with staff, parents and carers and children and young people will be sought as schools develop their individual anti-bullying policies over the next 12 months.
