As part of Spectra 2018 we are programming the Spectra Artist Residencies with 10 schools. This year the residency is linking numeracy and creativity – please see Spectra Teacher’s Pack here: https://goo.gl/zkm62K
It is a fantastic opportunity for pupils to create an installation that will transform an area of Aberdeen. The footfall and visitors to the festival has grown over the 4 year period and last year saw the visitors increase to 60,000 visits to the festival sites.
If your school and Primary 6 class would like to take part please contact coordinator and artist Hannah Ayre email@example.com asap. The opportunity will be offered to schools on a first come first served basis. Hannah Ayre will notify each school if they are part of the residency. The workshops for the Spectra Residencies will take place in mid-January 2018.
It is essential to the smooth running of the overall project that the notified teachers attend the CPD event as it is an opportunity to meet the artists, try the activity, share learning and discuss the evaluation methods.
The CPD event is at Skene Square School on Thursday 5 October 2017, 4.00-6.00pm.
The evening will be an opportunity to find out more about the workshops as well a chance to discuss the needs of your class, so that the artists can tailor the session to suit your pupils. We will also be providing teachers with a curriculum links pack which will include ideas and suggestions for linking the Spectra workshops to cross curriculum projects. You may wish to do some relevant preparatory or follow up work with your class around the workshop, we can also advise on this.
Workshops will take place in mid-January. To book a session or find out more, contact Hannah:
