CPD Session: Teaching Rights in Context – MELP on Monday 26th November 2018. 4 – 6pm at MDEC in Aberdeen.
This will focus on using the unique Miniature Earth Learning Project programme to explore the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals alongside Children’s Rights whilst placing both in a local and global context.
The Miniature Earth Learning Project is structured in a way that enables active learning, independent and group-based research and critical thinking to produce an end presentation that can be celebrated at our annual event in May 2019. It is also clearly linked to many areas of the CfE as mapped out in the resource handout.
If teachers wish to engage with this project, follow up support will be provided through mentoring sessions, team-teaching opportunities and a range of resources from our partner organisations.
Please share this around your staffroom and if you and any colleagues are interested, you can register on Eventbrite by visiting: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/teaching-rights-in-context-melp-tickets-52611070127
Is Aberdeen too far for you to travel to on a school day?
We are looking for schools in Moray, North Aberdeenshire, South Aberdeenshire and West Aberdeenshire to host one of these sessions. All you need to provide is a room with a laptop and screen, some refreshments and some willing teachers. We will then promote this around our network and invite teachers from local schools or who live in your area to come to the session.
It’s a great way to network and a lovely excuse to drink tea together while finding ways to really embed Global Citizenship and Rights education in your class and school.
