Multi Agency Neglect Training Sessions ADDITIONAL TRAINING SESSIONS

Demand for the Learning and Development Sub Committee (of the Aberdeen City Child Protection Committee) have multi-agency training course on Neglect has exceeded the amount of places on the initial 10 training courses, therefore there are now 2 additional dates to try and respond to demand. Places are now open for booking and further information is detailed below:-

AIM OF THE TRAIING

The aim of this training is to explore the issue of childhood neglect in a multi-agency context.-

  • The session will explore what we mean by neglect-
  • Look at the different types of neglect-
  • Consider the impact upon children who have experienced neglect, with a particular focus on cumulative harm.-
  • Reflect on how we manage neglect in practice.

 

This interactive session will also give practitioners the opportunity to consider and discuss the various tools for assessment available that could be applied to scenarios that support practitioners to identify persistent experiences of children and young people that fail to meet basic physical, and/or psychological needs and are likely to result in the serious impairment of a child’s ‘health’ or development.

LEARNING OUTCOMES-

  • To identify what constitutes neglect and recognise different types of neglect-
  • To increase knowledge about how to identify neglect-
  • To increase knowledge about how to manage neglect in practice
