Aberdeen Reads at your Local Library!

This year we have a brand new reading challenge: Aberdeen Reads! This challenge is for everyone, so teachers, children, young people and their families can all get involved and encourage each other to keep reading over the Summer holidays!

Aberdeen Reads will run from Friday 5 July until Saturday 24 August, and will challenge everyone to read for at least 6 minutes every day. All kinds of reading will count: picture books, fiction, non-fiction, e-books, talking books, magazines, news articles…anything you enjoy! There are also weekly mini-challenges to do.

Exciting free events will take place in libraries throughout the holidays for families taking part, and special prize draws will be made at the end of the challenge. Check at your local library for the date of their event.

This is a great opportunity for you to challenge the children over the holidays and take part yourself, so please encourage children and young people to sign up at their local library from Saturday 22 June.
