Creativity, Shape & Measure: CPD
with Linzy McAvoy
Based on ideas explored through an innovative Creative Learning project called ‘Creativity, Shape and Measure’ this twilight CPD session will explore how dance is closely linked to mathematics, with particular focus on symmetry and angles.
Dance Artist Linzy will share some of the learning from the project, for which she was the lead artist, and teachers will leave with tips and tools on how to incorporate dance into the maths curriculum.
Thurs 15th March 4:30 – 6:00, Teachers (venue Rosemount Community Centre, Belgrave Terrace, AB25 2NS)
Innocence: CPD led by Scottish Dance Theatre
Dawn Hartley, Head of Creative Learning for Scottish Dance Theatre, leads this practical session ideal for Early Years Practitioners, Teachers and Dance Tutors interested in delivering dance for Early Years children. Using props, we will unpack key themes from the company’s performance of Innocence through which outcomes for Early Years Dance and Movement are delivered.
No dance experience is required as the focus is on inviting the children to move naturally, understanding the rationale for the movements and working together to develop further lessons.
Tues 13th March 4.00 – 6.00, Early Years Practitioners, Teachers, PSA’s & Dance Tutors, (max 12) (venue Rosemount Community Centre, Belgrave Terrace, AB25 2NS)
