The annual Arts Across Learning Festival offers fully funded access to arts and cultural activity for ASN, nursery and primary schools across the city of Aberdeen. The programme brings together some of the very best artists and companies to develop and deliver bespoke learning opportunities for children, teachers and artists working in schools. Over a number of years Creative Learning, Aberdeen City Council, has developed the Festival programme, informed by national and local policy and practice.
The Festival provides high quality learning experiences, effectively engaging children and young people in a wide range of arts activity. The programme provides access to drama, theatre, story-telling, music and dance in a variety of forms as well as introducing participants to specialisms such as ceramics, photography and the creative aspects of technology. The Festival is one of very few, if not the only, festival in Scotland to bring such diversity of art forms to nursery and primary school children, at no cost to schools.
Open to all schools, in 2019 the Arts Across Learning Festival will be running from 25th February– 8h March.
