Looking for a great and fun way to intergrate technology skills in your Primary classroom whilst improving your own knowledge and understanding of engineering?
Following the success of “Primary Engineer” in Aberdeen City primary schools last session, we are delighted to offer an opportunity for registration onto the programme for 2014/15.
The limited places are open to all City primary schools, including those already registered, and wishing to increase their capacity to deliver the programme, and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
The CPD training day for up to 2 teachers takes place on 24th April 2014. The event will also attended by engineers who will be working with the schools. Course attendees will make a number of models to bring back into the classroom, they will also be given the training CD and access to online resources to use to train other members of staff at the registered school.
The programme is designed by teachers and linked to Curriculum for Excellence offering whole class activities which can be delivered over 12-16 hours through practical maths, science and technology lessons. Once a school is registered it is hoped that they will continue to deliver the programme on an annual basis increasing both the students’ knowledge and skills base as they progress through the CfE levels.
