Film Education CPD

Please find included  information on the upcoming Film Education CPD initiative for Aberdeen.

Into Film is the UK-wide charity for film education for 5-19 year olds, funded by the British Film Institute. Scottish Film is a consortium of Scotland’s leading cultural cinemas and film organisations, funded by Creative Scotland to support the strategic development of film, cinema and the moving image in Scotland.

Moving Image & Film Education refers to pedagogical approaches that encourage deep and active engagement and facilitate young people in taking control of their own learning processes. Using film as text to raise attainment in reading and writing helps learners to develop their ability to decode information, deduce and infer meaning from visual information and translate that into spoken and written communication.  Film Education can improve not only learners’ technical filmmaking skills, but also curricular attainment through the development of cross-curricular literacy, communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills. Through creating and organising film products, learners improve creative, organisational and entrepreneurial skills whilst learning to work as part of a team.

A highly experienced lead practitioner and assistant will facilitate the development and provision of this CPD ensuring quality of content and delivery across the six sessions.
