Summer Reading Challenge is Launched with a World Record Attempt

The Literacy Development team were delighted to be invited along to the Library and Information Service’s launch of ‘The Tesco Summer Reading Challenge’ in Aberdeen. On Saturday 11th July the Central Library was filled with adults and children who were keen to sign a reading pledge in an attempt to collect as many pledges from 11am until 3pm.

It was great to see the library so busy with both enthusiastic children and adults. We cannot wait to find out the results, we’ll be sure to keep you all posted!

Remember, The Summer Reading Challenge – ‘Record Breakers’ – takes place throughout the Summer holidays. For more information, visit your local library.
