Shrapnel – A performance in Gaelic and English

Shrapnel – Friday 18 March, The Lemon Tree, 7pm

Set in Edinburgh’s deepest darkest underbelly, it is the story of a man on the run for a crime he did not commit. We follow our enigmatic narrator’s every step through the back streets of Edinburgh, as he meets an array of extraordinary misfits, while on the run from the psychotic Detective Shrapnel, who is never far behind.

The piece will be subtitled throughout and so is totally accessible to both English and Gàidhlig speakers. The subtitles, animation and video along with a haunting soundscape and live music mean this extraordinary, funny, dark and irreverent piece of theatre will engage audiences, irrespective of what language they speak

It contains strong language and mild violence so we have rated it 14+.

Leabhraichean Beaga have kindly agreed to publish the play Shrapnel in both English and Gàidhlig and it will be available from all venues on tour – £6 (£3.50 students)

There is a very strong ensemble of 6 well known actors in the cast, some of whom play instruments and sing in the show including the beautiful Gaelic singer Màiri Morrison
