Please find below information to attend and participate in a mini-conference about the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. This might be of particular interest for schools currently involved in the Eco Schools Award or work around Children’s Rights and/Learning for Sustainability.
We would like to invite you to participate in a mini-conference to raise awareness of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on the morning of Thursday, March 30th 2017 at Robert Gordon’s College, Schoolhill , Aberdeen.
This event is the first of its kind and is aimed primarily at Primary School pupils from P4-7, although all stages are welcome.
The aim of the conference is to share our understanding of some of the SDG’s with each other and the wider community. Our vision is to ask groups of pupils from different schools to present a Goal to the conference in any way they choose, e.g. through music, drama, literacy or any other cross-curricular approach.
The event will be held in the morning and participating pupils will be offered light refreshments upon arrival. We would also hope to invite members of the local community such local councillors and politicians as we want this event to really reach across the Aberdeen City community – Education and otherwise – to raise awareness of these highly important goals.
Our first step is to invite you to an informal teacher meeting on Thursday 9th February at 3.45pm at RGC Junior School. We would anticipate that this meeting would last no longer than one hour. At this meeting we would aim to agree on which Goals schools would like to present as well as discussing guests people would like to invite as well as sharing a cup of coffee.
Please confirm your interest at your earliest convenience by emailing Ingrid Stanyer on firstname.lastname@example.org<mailto:email@example.com> or phone 07807059037 or Susie Robertson on 07788576126.
