Free unicef ‘Myths and Misconceptions’ Resource

Unicef have recently launched a free resource which breaks down some of the common myths and misconceptions about children’s rights which they have encountered in their work with teachers, parents and school communities through the Rights Respecting Schools Award.

Children have the right to be loved. Children have the right to make mistakes. With rights come responsibilities.”

All of these statements are commonly held misunderstandings around what a right is and what children’s rights mean in practice. The booklet can help to break down misunderstandings within your school community and can be used as a tool for discussion with staff and parents when implementing rights respecting standards.

You can find the booklet available electronically and for free here: https://www.unicef.org.uk/rights-respecting-schools/resources/myths-and-misconceptions-booklet-unicef-uk/
