Scotword is a nationwide youth engagement project that’s asking young people in Scotland, what makes you proud to live in Scotland? Young people (aged 8-26) can submit their #ScotWord online at scotword.edinburghshogmanay.com and after a shortlisting and a public vote, the winning word will be displayed by hundreds of torch bearers at the end of the Edinburgh Torchlight Procession in Holyrood Park on 30 December.

At the same time we have 26 Young Champions, each from a different local authority, leading workshops in their areas to engage with young people and get them talking about what it means to be a young person living in Scotland. We’ve had over 80 workshops take place all over the country from the Shetland Islands all the way down to Dumfries and Galloway. We’ve had hundreds of fantastic submissions so far which can be viewed here

The deadline for groups to submit their #ScotWord is 30 November.

Groups can either get involved by using the resource kit provided here, or by simply uploading a word here.
